The UK house-finding and property-building industries are currently in flux.
Online there are many ways for finding details of companies working in the property sector - most consist of flat lists of names and addresses in simple directories.
The issue is that things are changing all the time - companies come and go - details get out of date - websites move or change ownership - links become invalid.
1-2-3-4-5 has been developed as a spin-off from our development of a property portal: www.homm.co.uk
We needed a way of monitoring and adapting to the websites involved in the property sector which has to work as much as possible automatically.
Our solution was to build a system that constantly takes screenshots, and occasionally visits, the sites it knows about.
By having a visual record of how sites/companies are changing it actually makes the experience more visually entertaining for readers.
Also, it's rather interesting (we think) and useful - to have a record of how companies are evolving, through changes in their websites.
1-2-3-4-5 is our view of companies involved in the UK property sector - Estate Agents, big house developers and small builders - any entity who is mentioned in Estate Agent's blurb - plus some more.
