At The Red House, you can have a new beginning - the opportunity and freedom to enjoy the lifestyle you deserve. The luxurious homes, excellent facilities and unique environment are all you need for independent, carefree living.
Village life at The Red House can be as relaxed or as active as you choose, with an excellent range of facilities offering every opportunity for a full and varied retirement. These include a lounge, bar, drawing room, The Fountains Restaurant, library, crafts room, hair and beauty salon, gym, and landscaped gardens.
The social activities, in which you can choose to participate or not, as you wish, range from, for example, interest groups, such as local history and gardening, to quizzes, wine-tasting events and cookery classes. Enjoy the many special events too, such as talks from visiting speakers and trips to local attractions, and the annual Pimm's on the Patio and summer barbecue, festive black-tie dinner and wonderful Christmas and New Year parties.
Enter the attractive beamed and red brick main building, which has been beautifully refurbished to accommodate some apartments and the extensive communal facilities, and the space is both impressive and welcoming, leading to a relaxing lounge where winter evenings can be spent enjoying drinks with friends by the beautiful traditional fireplace.
Other existing buildings - The Lodge, The Stables and The Cottage - have been similarly carefully restored into six delightful character homes, alongside the six new-build Rievaulx Cottages. Further new buildings - Jervaulx, Rosedale and Richmond - provide the remaining 47 properties, all of which are apartments.
Built by an experienced local family firm, complemented by top designers, the very best materials have been used to create both communal areas and individual properties that are elegant, stylish, luxurious and comfortable.
Owners at The Red House will enjoy attractive, peaceful surroundings with beautifully landscaped gardens and generous outside terraces, offering a delightful setting overlooking the lawns and woodland, the perfect place to relax during the warmer months.
The Red House benefits from a tranquil and leafy environment, but with proximity to the modern amenities and rich culture of Ripon city centre, just over half a mile away. Ripon offers all the shops, cafés, restaurants and conveniences you'd expect from a city, including Booths Supermarket, a new cinema and the planned Marks & Spencer, whilst still retaining a unique character and charm.
Browse the independent book stores, antique shops, boutiques and high street shops against the stunning backdrop of the historical buildings and the imposing cathedral, or visit the weekly market for an assortment of fresh produce.
There are plenty of places to eat, from cosy cafés to chic brasseries. For sports enthusiasts the Ripon City Golf Club and Ripon Cricket Club are within easy reach, and it's just two and a half miles to a lively day at the races.
If it's a more leisurely walk you're after, this is the perfect location to take in the stunning scenery of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, stopping at one of the many country pubs along the way. Nidderdale, deservedly designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, lies on the border of the National Park and is close to the World Heritage Site of Fountains Abbey.
The beautiful spa town of Harrogate is around 12 miles away, for a trip to the RHS Harlow Carr Gardens, Harrogate Theatre, and of course the famous Bettys Tearoom. 26 miles to the south-east of Ripon, the county city of York also offers an interesting day out.
